Presentation:
Player of the Match: Will Jacks(PC) Fantastic victory; we also receive the bonus point. I’m overjoyed about that. It was completely sold out thanks to the enthusiastic crowds. My first time playing in South Africa, and I definitely want to return. Every ground here, in my opinion, has a different set of circumstances. I try to keep things straightforward; if it falls into my zone, I play my shots.
Rashid Khan(MICT): I believe that choosing to bowl first was the proper move, but Jack’s performance during the powerplay effectively ended the game. I believe we did well in limiting them to 182 in the way we returned. However, given the pitch, we would have preferred to chase 150–160. We shouldn’t try too many new things during the tournament’s final phase, in my opinion. We just need to follow the fundamentals well and maintain our composure. I believe our 7-8 day sabbatical will be beneficial to us. Huge thanks to the audience; I’m thrilled to be playing here. We deeply regret that we were unable to award you a victory today.
Wayne Parnell(Pretoria Capitals): A wonderful game to win. At the midway point, we were secure, but credit goes to our bowling team. They put in a lot of labor. The goal in the locker room is to relieve these players of the pressure so they can perform on the field. We have had several match-winners. (On Jack Kallis) He is a legend of the game and has encouraged us to remain composed while entertaining the audience throughout this intense T20 match.
“The Capitals ultimately won with a victory that was very easy. The only time MI Cape Town appeared to be in the game in the second innings was when Brevis was at the crease. MI Cape Town never really got going. After the child left, van der Dussen was unable to continue, and his 25-ball 24 did more harm than good for their chances. The rest of the middle order appeared to be frail, and MI Cape Town was, to put it mildly, completely outclassed by players like Nortje and Parnell who were operating at full strength”.
