Presentation:
Player of the Match: Faf du Plessis(C)(JSK) I try to get hundreds in every league I play because it’s important to me to convert those scores. Nice, slightly sticky wicket, followed by classic Wanderers play once you’re inside… Maharaj got the ball to stick and thought we were falling behind the pace before Topley bowled well, regaining our momentum. I told Reeza to go on strike because we knew the back end would be simpler and that batting is about partnerships. He was urged to strike the ball as late as he could. This event is incredible, and it is lovely to perform in front of a large audience. Bullring is ablaze!
Quinton de Kock(DSG): Tonight, Faf performed exceptionally well; his knowledge and experience were evident. They never threw away their wickets, despite the fact that we needed early wickets. We fought bravely, but it wasn’t going our way.
Here is the summary of the last match played between Super Kings and Super Giants.
“Faf only! The Joburg unit required their skipper to fire throughout the pursuit, and he successfully ended the pursuit in fine fashion. With Hendricks, he got off to a poor start before exploding in the last over of the powerplay. While Hendricks struggled with timing, Faf persisted in his attack beyond the 10-over point. It appeared that the race would be close, but Faf never wavered, and his eight fours and eight sixes helped him to a convincing victory. Joburg has now ranked fourth on the table thanks to this victory. Durban continues to play poorly, and another defeat has made it more unlikely that they will advance to the final four”.
