Presentation:
Player of the Match: Leus du Plooy(Pretoria Capitals) It was all about assessing the situation as quickly as possible. We got off to a great start thanks to Faf and Reeza. Our job was made easier. I just try to stay true to my game, which is to bring good intent to the crease. They bowled brilliantly upfront; fortunately, we gained momentum at the tail end. We thought we were 10 runs short. I’ll be back tomorrow.
Wayne Parnell(Pretoria Capitals): Simply unforced errors. They were still 15 runs short, in my opinion. But we made a couple of stupid mistakes. Pitch was slow at first but improved under lights. We most likely played good cricket for the majority of the game. I made mistakes at critical points.
Faf du Plessis(Joburg Super Kings): I enjoy a good tight one. We’re either getting hammered or it’s a close game. Today appeared to be a lot better. The pitch’s nature is perfect (intent at the start). I thought 170 was average. We are aware that the wicket performs better in the evening. We only needed one for the boys to get their chests out. A fantastic crowd that reminded me of international games. Thank you so much to everyone; it was fantastic.
“That was an epic cricket match, one that ebbed and flowed and ultimately ended in favor of the Super Kings. They started well, bringing back Jacks and Rossouw on the powerplay. Salt threatened to derail their plans, but the hosts continued to take wickets even as the Capitals remained within striking distance of the required run rate. In the end, though, the Capitals just did not have enough batters to capitalize on the quick scoring earlier in the innings. The Super Kings must also be commended for their bravery. They only had 42 runs to defend in the final five overs and won by 6 runs”.
