“The game has been called off. There were two canceled games today, both of which were at different locations. Similar to the first game, both teams will end up with two points, which puts the Durban Super Giants in a vulnerable situation. They required all four points to be competitive, so this outcome has severely hurt their qualifying. Sunrisers Eastern Cape won’t mind gaining a few points as long as it moves them up to the second place and gives them a game remaining. Although rain was expected, the ground staff was unprepared. The outfield took a good bit of punishment as a result of their tardiness in putting the covers on and the need for assistance from some of the coaching staff, including Jonty Rhodes and Morne Morkel, even though they made every effort to prepare the ground”.
