Player of the Match: Faf du Plessis (c) (JSK)

“JSK advances to the final four with this victory. They took full advantage of the slow wicket’s characteristics to suffocate SEC. Rossington left early, but Bavuma was still in terrific shape and he and Markram put up a fight. Simmonds’ successful attempt to stay low and defeat Bavuma, who had hit fifty and appeared to be leading his team to victory, marked the game’s turning point. Following that wicket, the match turned significantly in favor of Joburg Super Kings thanks to a team hat-trick. A few slower balls and cutters onto the pitch proved to be too difficult for the lower tier of SEC to hit, thus they expertly ended the game at the last end”.
